Vintage Apron Patterns proudly presents,Ruffles and Frills.
This is so dainty and ladylike. I had an idea and it included ruffles and frilly edging. I think it looks great coupled with the retro fabrics. All of the fabric again came from Joann Fabrics.
I'm adding another today called Flirty Fun, it as well is inspired by the aprons our Moms use to wear. You really must dust that sewing machine off and get back to sewing. Don't miss all the fun.
This sweet waist apron style is versatile and can be made in a
multitude of colors to suit your kitchen colors.
I've done quite a bit of research and many of the vintage aprons are
a waist apron style.
Much of the sewing that our grandmothers did was tedious. You see smocking and hand embroidery, not to mention lined waist bands and stylized ties. Sewing incorporated needlework on a regular basis. Take a look yourself at some of the patterns that you may currently own. I'm sure you will see what I'm referring to.We have such advanced machinery that's capable of hundreds of stitches at the press of a button or switch. What takes us a few days to make may have taken our grandmothers weeks.
